This means that we need someone who not only wants to provide best-practice, proactive and preventative health services to our patients, but also to deliver value with caring, compassionate customer service to our clients.
We are seeking a mixed practice vet, preferably with dairy experience, who is looking for a varied case load. New or recent graduates are welcome to apply.
This is a dream mixed practice position for anyone who enjoys the variety of a true mixed practice. We are a 9 vet practice with a mixed of companion animals, cattle (both dairy and beef), small ruminants and horses. This position will have a case load of 50% production animals with the balance companion animals.
Located in one of Australia’s largest dairy regions, we provide proactive herd health, farm consultancy, ambulatory and preventative health services to both family and corporate dairy farms. We also enjoy working with our commercial beef and stud beef operations in the northern part of our practice. We are always looking for new ways of expanding our service to our large animal clients.
For our large animal work have all the usual toys, linear and sector ultrasounds, hydraulic tipper crush, bull testing gear and are one of the few clinics in Australia who perform laparoscopic LDA’s. We have a strong focus on professional development and have an on staff BULLCHECK™ and PREGCHECK™ accredited examiner for those looking to build core cattle skills.
Sheep work is also available for someone with a keen interest to develop that side of the business.
Our companion animal services include first opinion consultations aided by all the diagnostic tools a rural veterinary clinic could dream of, including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, ECG, CBC/Biochem, Coag and urinalysis machines and anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Canine reproduction also form to core component of our business and we routinely perform TCI’s, fresh and frozen AI and semen collection and freezing for a variety of canine breeds.
Terang is located just over 2 hours west of Melbourne and 30 minutes from the well serviced scenic coastal town of Warrnambool.

We have a great clinic team who has fun while delivering a professional and valuable service to our clients.
You will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, work phone and laptop. AVA membership, Plumbs App subscription and Vet Surgeons Board registrations are included.
Our after-hours roster is equally shared and is 1 in 5 to 6. When on call, you are supported by our TeleHealth Triage team of experienced nurses.
Our full time vets work a 9 day fortnight with time off in lieu if you have a weekend on call. The package includes 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week conference leave and 5 days paid volunteer leave each year.
Remuneration will be dependent on experience and the value you can bring to our team.
