Dalby & District Veterinary Services is one of the expanding Apiam Animal Health group of regional and rural clinics that are committed to enriching the lives of animals, people and communities.
Due to our clinic’s continued growth and restructure, we are expanding our services to the community. As such we are seeking an experienced mixed practice veterinarian to join our team.
The Position:
- This is a full-time position with a mixed caseload.
- The overall practice mix is approximately 65% companion animals, 35% large animals.
- The mix for this role is negotiable however our preference is for a vet who is confident with large animal work whilst also helping with the companion animal roster. Ideally it would be 30% beef, 30% equine and 40% companion animals.
- Vets work a 4-day week.
- We do provide an after-hours service for our large animal clients. This will be a maximum of 1:4 and possibly less frequent. We have a dedicated after-hours Triage Nurse Team who answer and filter all calls and to reduce unnecessary disturbance of our vets.
About You:
- Ideally you will have 2+ years’ experience in mixed practice.
- ACV Preg Check and BBSE accreditation is advantageous. If you are working towards these accreditations, then we can help you achieve this.
- Above all else, we need a genuinely motivated and enthusiastic person who, by example, values and contributes to an amazingly positive workplace culture.
- As we create our new expanded service to the community, we look forward to you building it with us.
- You build rapport with people easily and you enjoy working within a supportive team.
- You are highly organized and can work autonomously as well as collaboratively with your teams.
Location:
Located in Dalby, Qld, we provide veterinary care to pets, horses and farm animals across the Western Darling Downs region. The clinic is a long established and busy mixed practice with a large team of experienced vets, veterinary nurses and receptionists. We have branches at Bell, Jandowae and Tara.
Dalby is a major regional commercial centre, the “Hub of the Darling Downs”. Within a rich agricultural area, Dalby offers all of the expected services of a large town and is within easy access of Brisbane and Toowoomba.
Remuneration:
Remuneration is dependent on skills and experience however a vet with well established mixed practice skills can expect upwards of $90,000 + super.
A work vehicle and phone are provided, plus plenty of benefits that come with being part of the Apiam Animal Health family.
Some of these include paid AVA membership, VSB registration, paid parental leave, genuine support for CE, paid volunteer leave, various retail, travel and service discounts, plus lots more.
