Hunter Equine Centre has an opportunity for an experienced enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated equine veterinary nurse to lead our nursing team in Scone, NSW.
We are a progressive team that provides specialist medical, surgical, intensive care and stud services within the hospital and on-farm to both our own clients and referral hospital cases.
Our practice has an excellent, new facility at the Scone Racetrack and we are lucky to service some of the best Thoroughbred studs in the region, as well as many excellent racing trainers and pre-trainers in the area.

Our ideal candidate
…would be an experienced, qualified equine veterinary nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in intensive care nursing is essential.
The role would be primarily hospital based incorporating nursing care of critically ill neonates, surgical nursing and post-operative patients. Assisting in training of the current nursing team would be an advantage. Leadership skills would be desirable and additional training can be provided in this field.
Occasional assistance with general tasks such as laboratory work, endoscopy, radiography, lameness workup would be required in addition to assistance with organisation/ordering for the pharmacy, surgical equipment and general equipment.
The role will require excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and dedication to providing the gold standard of care to every patient.
