Companion Animal Veterinarian – Kyabram, Vic

Career Opportunity, Companion Animal

Kyabram Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced companion animal veterinarian to join our country mixed practice.  Due to the growth of our small animal work, this is a newly developed position in our team.

We would like to welcome a vet who is keen to practice at a high level and who would like to develop their own area of special interest and expertise.

This mixed practice services an extensive dairy community as well as a growing equine and companion animal client base.  We are a busy clinic and we pride ourselves on not only being community based but on having great work culture and a team who is motivated to support each other. Our vibrant team connects well socially…think nights at the pub, river floats and movie nights as well as prosecco Thursdays!

The practice is well equipped with all the expected gear to deliver quality care to small animals including full Idexx laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, and more.  We can refer cases for CT and specialist procedures to our small animal practice Fur Life Vet in Bendigo.

Practice opening hours are: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.30pm and Saturday, 8:30am to 12:00pm.

The practice is in Kyabram, a large rural Centre in the Goulburn Valley region and offers a wide range of sporting and social activities. The Murray River and all its tourist attractions are just a short drive away. Melbourne is an easy two hour drive away.

About You:

The successful applicant will be a small animal veterinarian (or mixed vet who now wishes to focus on small animals) with 3+ years’ experience who is confident and proficient in all aspects of companion animal GP work.

We partner with Zoos Victoria to provide services to Kyabram Fauna Park hence anyone with a keen interest in exotics would be warmly welcomed.

We will consider full time (as a 4- or 5-day week), part time or FIFO/DIDO flexible arrangements.

We will support your continuing education to develop your area of special interest and are happy to purchase any required equipment to facilitate this.

Your excellent communication and ability to build rapport with your clients and colleagues will be highly regarded.

Benefits
Remuneration depends on your skills and experience.  Expect upwards of $100,000 for a full time position.

In addition, Apiam offers a range of benefits including support for continued professional development, study leave, paid AVA membership and VSB registration, paid volunteer leave, a range of corporate discounts for retail, travel and gym, employee recognition awards plus we are proud to be able to give back to our clients and communities through the Fur Life Foundation and our various client support initiatives.
